It's been a long while since I've scanned color film, but I don't remember having so much trouble with it! I've got a roll shot on mostly grass with a gray dog taking up about 35-50% of each frame, using kodak's 400UC. Shoot towards the evening, probably about half an hour before light beecomes golden.

So... I tried both vuescan and nikonscan on my cs V, and i get the weirdest colors ever! The dog comes out somewhat blue with a tint of magenta, the grass comes out this hideous blah puke yellow/green/brown. I have tried scanning as slide, as raw, without levels, with it, auto this and that, I'm so frustrated!

Help 🙂

I shoot a lot with 400 UC. I don't have problems scanning it. It is a little more sensitive to blue, outdoors, particularly when underexposed—maybe because it's "professional" film. 🙂 Let's see what you're getting. Post an image.

Finder was close.. after a reboot, things came out okay. This shot is still a bit off in color, but much, much, MUCH better than what I had. The frames afterwards were still off a bit, and I couldn't get the colors right, oh, well.

contax g2, 90mm, kodak 400uc
