Color film that has a dreamy vintage look?

For those of you who recommended Ferrania, I just got back my first roll of 100 speed and it is really grainy. Is this a characteristic of the film? It is definitely accentuated by underexposure but even on exposures where I nailed it, it seems really grainy. The color/tone is really nice. Seems to skew toward a warm yellowish tone.
I haven't used 100 speed myself but that about sums up its reputation, I'd say. A search for Ferrania on the forum should yield more info.

there is always a soft focus filter

B+W Soft Focus Attachment Soft Pro

Gives a slight soft effect and dreamy bokeh enhancement. Well suited to female portraiture.

Whatever film you like - the effect you want is from an uncoated lens. Since all you have is a VC 35/2.5 you'll have to do it in post processing or buy an old lens.

I was afraid to suggest this since this kind of suggestion of often taken quite poorly. But I agree wholeheartedly. Besides using 160VC, I'll also use SF filters and with large format a soft-focus lens.

Close, but not quite in my camp. My camp always has wine in the glasses. :)

Nice looking family (I assume that is your family.)

Soft net filter? Seems to be an old cinematographers trick that gets very rarely mentioned.

Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead but this seems worth pointing out for future reference.
