ive decided to make my own baseplate with a built in grip. i saw this one
and will make it similar.
im going to strip off the motor from the m4-2 motor and use only the very top portion, and use a strip of alunimum on the bottom with a contour for the grip. this will allow me to have a centered tripod socket as well. I will keep the motors release arm as is. it seems trivial to machine the slots.
prabably make the grip out of wood like this one i saw on ebay
i dont know if its ergonomic but it looks fairly so. ill try a clay model.
i would not do this of course but i cannot find a replacent baseplate at a reasonalbe price. i dont think its worth $200 for a new one.
