Coming to Canada!

The North Shore is stunning indeed. Get a campsite at Agawa campground at Superior Provincial Park (closer to the Soo) and feel the power lurking in the water.

If you head to Algonquin, skip 11 and go up 35 instead. There's a cool fire tower in Dorset with a great view if yer not afraid of heights. And while yer in Algonquin, it's short drive to Ottawa and Gatineau. And while yer in Ottawa, it's another short drive to Montreal...you get the idea ;)

Depending on when you come, you might be able to hit a camera show as well.

ps- save your pennies, gas is about $5 US a gallon right now.

If you come across southern Ontario be sure to use Highway 2 not the 401 and consider the ferry on Highway 33 through Prince Edward County. Many Americans came up to settle the area during one of the last wars. 1776 or 1812 or Something.

Bill

I live further North than you'd want to go in a day, but the Lake Superior coastline is just gorgeous in the fall ...
Yes it is! My first time in Ontario was early one October, and I drove the entire noth shore of Lake Superior on my way out west. Being a glutton for punishment, I've actually driven it three times now.

If you can make it that far north, you'll see amazing forest and lake country, you'll discover some sad signs of our impact on the terrain, and you'll enjoy a simultaneously exhausting and invigorating drive. Drive the entire coast from Sault to TB, and then turn around and see it again from the other side.

I don't know much else about Ontario except that Ottawa is very nice and that if you're in Ottawa, you might as well come back to Montréal for another visit!

No - I stink - didn't make it - major family issues prevented it. I am definately going in February however - tagging along with my wife to a legal conference and I'll have two days to kill...

Hey Dave,

It's going to be in Toronto - it's a mock-trial or some such thing. My wife is a law student @ Pitt and she's part of a team who will be arguing a mock case while I wander the snowy streets, hopefully with a good beer-buzz on :)
