I'm looking for a small flash I can use across my range of cameras. Some of my cameras are newer with electronic shutter, etc. so I don't want to damage the camera with a flash with a high sync voltage.
I tried searching the botzilla site but it's quite difficult to see which flashes are compact or not...can anyone recommend a good flash?
Preferably with PC sync compatibility as well.

Any of the Nikon SB flashes since the SB-16 should be fine. If you're ever worried or want to try something fun like using flashbulbs, you can get a Wein SafeSynch and shoot whatever you want. A good compact flash would be the Nikon SB-30 though.

Thanks, looks good. I can use a hotshoe adapter for one of those to use PC sync if I need to

My SB-15 shows a triggering voltage of 4.25 volts DC...I have used this on several newer bodies with no problems...Guide Number/82...

The Panasonic PE-20S is a good option that ticks all the boxes for you. Panasonic lists this as a 'low voltage' flash, actual voltage listed as 9v. It can be used with an accessory cord to plug into a PC socket on the camera, and whats more, it even has a slave trigger for off camera effects...
