compact, modern and sharp RF?

Yeah, the XA is not the sharpest lens around nor is it one that will endear me to love it as that is too much of step down from the M3. But, it is a good camera and it fits a need for me when I need snapshots of the grandkids, etc. Sometimes, I just don't need to carry anything larger, especially when it is hot!:D The XA fits in my pocket or money belt, talk about stealth.

Now, what else would/will I consider? Raid has the answer in the Minox GT and similar models. Check out his thread recently and you will see what I mean!

Someone mentioned the Konica Auto S3, I second that. Very sharp, small and the focal length is nice. If you can find a good one grab it.

Re: Contax T

Re: Contax T

The T is a very capable camera indeed. Very small as well, which is a plus and a minus. Overall, a fantastic camera that started a compact camera revolution. Cartier-Bresson bought several of these from E.P. Levine's to shoot personal work after he "retired". If it was good enough for the master...

How about a Leica IIIf with collapsable 50/3.5 Elmar and the sunny 16 esposure rule.(ignore the age of the camera!)

The XA is a true rangefinder, not zone-focus. The XA4 is zone focus-- and that lens is the shiznit. Some people find the 28mm too wide, but everything I've shot with it really "pops". Same form factor as the XA too. Minuses: hard to find and more delicate than the XA.
