Has anyone done a comparison between the Nikkor 50mm f1.4 Millenium vs original Olympic?
I am guessing it would be a difference between coating and flare management. Can anyone confirm?
Were the optical formulas the same?

Not that I know of. I was hoping you'd do it when you owned both lenses, Vick!
Neither optical formula is published so we can only speculate, but my guess is that the Millennium is a slightly tweaked Olympic with multi-coating.
From what I've read on Japanese websites, the Olympic is known for giving colour photos a slight magenta cast. Must be the coating used, I guess.
