I have bought this lens, believing it to be a M42 version, but when it arrived, I saw it had a simple bayonet mount. No big deal, I thought, I was going to buy an MX body anyway...
However, when the body arrived, I have seen, that the lens would not mount on it, so my question is, what bodies would it mount on ( possibly the K series ?) which is the best of them, and if anybody has heard about a glassless Pentax K to Nikon or Minolta MD or Olympus OM adapter.. I will use the lens in the 1-3 meter range anyway.
Thanks.

The Pentax MX is K mount. As Pentax never made any SLR lens with a bayonet mount other than K (in various variations, which the MX all ought to take), there probably is some alien adapter stuck on your lens...

Sounds wrong - the Super Tak should be fine on M42. Is there an adaptor attached perhaps - an odd PK adaptor or has the lens been modified and can it be changed back? It would be a shame not to be able to use it. Photos of the lens mount might help to identify what is going on.

Definitely sounds like an M42-bayonet mount adapter, compare pictures of the lens to yours and I'm sure you'll see some additional depth where the adapter is.

It looks, like I have discovered what the problem was - I mounted it on a Nikon body, and it clicked into place perfectly - it must have been converted to Nikon mount... This solves the problem better than I was expecting...
