Hi to all , this's my first message on this beautiful forum....😱

I'm looking for a 50 mm for my Bessa r2 , the leica lens unfortunately are too expansive for me, now i've founded on ebay this lens , http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=200072934982&rd=1&rd=1 , i don't know if with the adapter it's possible to fit it on my R2 , and if it's better than the jupiter 8 and 3.

Someone could help me ?

And is it better for you to save money to buy the Nokton f1.5?

Thank you 🙂

I haven't seen this puppy before - It's CZJ - so I'm guessing it may be a M42 Practica mount converted to Zenit.

The Zenit has a mirror box - so no they will not be compatible. I also doubt that this lens has focus coupling ring for a range finder.

Why not start out with a Soviet LTM - Industar 61LD? It's a 55/2.8 Tessar design and fairly affordable.

That lens is definitely an SLR lens and not a rangefinder lens, so even with a straight screw to bayonet adapter it will be at the wrong distance from the film and will not focus properly. There do exist adapters that are a kind of short tube to mount such a lens the correct distance from the film, but they're uncommon and probably expensive, and it still wouldn't work the rangefinder in the R2.

Excellent, what a lucky find. I think the old FSU Tessar design lenses (the I-26, I-61 etc) really are surprisingly good lenses - and they're based on a design from, when, 1902 is it?
