Complaints about link colors

I have been geeting complaints that the links do not have a unique color thus they are hard to spot. What color should the links be?

Links are invisible.

Purple is traditional, I believe.

This enhancement will be very welcomed.

I think blue is traditional, but it might be hard to see against this dark background. You could go for yellow and fuschia or green or turquoise for links that have already been visited.

Blue looks good to me. It has to be visible but at the same time not detract from reading the main body.

How about an off-orange? (i.e. not shocking Halloween orange) It makes sense given the current color scheme.

And yeah, that link chasing thing could be fixed by updating the CSS file for each scheme's "link" definition. It was probably copied and pasted from the "original", smaller font style.

I could live with almost any color (almost!), but please, please, please get rid of the font size altering attribute!!!

I have written to Jorge on more than one occasion about the link font changing size and a number of us have posted about it, so don't hold your breath...

Underline the links. If there is one population stereotype on the internet it is that underlined text means a hyperlink.

I HATE the size-changing thing.

Generally I could give two craps what the user interface looks like -- whatever colors you choose I'll be happy with -- but I could live without the spastic links. Once I had to resize my window to click on one at all, because every time I tried it would change size and then end up on another line. It's not the hugest inconvenience but it was a bit annoying.

Have you seen that joke application.. it's a dialogue box with "okay" in the button. And soon as the mouse gets right next to it, the whole things moves away? 😀

Something that contrasts with both the background and the text: yellow or orange, probably. The blue is a low contrast with the background - not just usability, but accessibility.

It would be better if the link were underlined in the text since the link is more or less the same color as the text. Below is a link to guidelines for the design of hypertext links from a fairly well known usability expert.

dotted underlines are nice. so are background colors that change on hover.

no need to use a garish primary color. just use a different shade of the background color.

I absolutely can NOT see yellow on your pages, orange is real fine. Any color that is chosen even if I don't like the color is ok just not Yellow !

Umm, to my eyes, the font size change still occurs within the body of the thread message. The links outside of the body are no longer changing. I am using the Afterdark-VBP354++ scheme.

Yep, I was too quick. Was testing in a work environment and not on my own machine.

Jorge, can you remove the small size on mouseover attribute from the link CSS please?
