My regular working outfit for about 10 years was an S3 and F, both chrome.
Now that I think about this more, my daily outfit these days is a D40, an SP, and a Canon G10), all of them black. The D40 and lenses (18-55; 55-200; 35/1.8G) seem to weigh less than the SP and its four lenses. The G10 makes movies, fits in a pocket, and can be silent.

For the last couple of years, having sold all of my pro bodies, lenses and studio equipment, my daily outfit was the Leica M3 and, believe it or not, my wife's D40. While not exactly complementary, it worked. The D40 was able to produce images rivalling those from the long-departed D2X.
Now that I am "focused" on film, I am thinking the F (or FTn) might be a good match for the Nikon bag, ... oh, wait! I don't have an SP yet do i?

An SP and an F would be about as seamless as it gets for a RF/SLR combination. They're essentially the same camera.
I agree. I use use my chrome S3 with 5cm f/1.4 and Black F with either 2.8 3.5 or 35 f2

Superb! Thanks, Jon!
Now, I see why it is the "same camera" and where it was stretched!

Dave,
While SPs are the KING of all rangefinders (IMHO) an S3 is almost as good. It is the same basic camera with a simpler finder. 35/50/105 frame lines and no parallax correction and no second finder. Full frame on my S2 (same magnification 1:1) was about a 28mm so save some money and pick up a good used S3, or a less used reissue.

I use a battered black Olympus OM-1md (or OM-2) with my black SP. I use the 50mm f/3.5 macro, 135mm f/2 and 200mm f/2.8 lenses with it.
The SP has a 35mm and 85mm Nikkors. My Contax IIa has the 25mm Voigtlander on it.
Great kit. How's not to like black OM-1 and OM-2 SLRs?
