I'm confused.

I see a bunch of threads here wrt the Fuji GF670 and such from 2008/2009 but now I see this:
http://flash.popphoto.com/blog/2010...campaign=Feed: PopphotoFlash (PopPhoto Flash)

And the article states the camera will only start shipping in the second quarter of this year.

So what's the real story?
Has anyone seen/bought one of these if they are not meant to start shipping till later this year?

Cheers,
Dave

Maybe Fuji is now planning to sell it outside of Japan (where it's been sold for @ least 6 months). Not sure why they're doing that since the CV Bessa III is supposed to be the export version. Perhaps sales in Japan have been disappointing?

Dave, they're in stock here: www.bigcameraworkshops.com for $2650 Cdn.

PopPhoto says the estimated price is $2199. Maybe their date was estimated as well. Rob brought one into town back on Oct. 10 - plus a Nokton f1.1 and a ZM 18mm. I just held the Bessa/Fuji for a moment, as it's so unlikely I'd buy one. Nice camera, though, and I thought the size was ok. For my medium format needs, the Mamiya TLR is quite enough. I am going to have to get a ZM 18mm, however, once I sell some stuff.

They're not available yet? There's a store in southern Germany, they had / have one in stock and I'm pretty sure it's for sale. 1999 Euros if I remember correctly.

So it's just the Bessa III (which is a rebadged Fuji - or is it the other way around. . . ) :)

I guess the Fuji / Cosina / Voigtlander agreement must have expired and now Fuji will sell the camera in the US.

I think it is made by Fuji.

Can't believe no one mentioned this on RFF today.

This is all strange...here is Fuji´s oficial press relase:

http://www.fujifilmusa.com/press/news/display_news?newsID=879818

Who knows what happened behind the curtains...Let´s see what happens to the Cosina-branded models! At least they are still being listed on Voigtlaender´s website.

There never were any Cosina branded 667. There are Voigtlander and Fuji versions, made in the Cosina factory.

Both will be marketed in the US starting in the 2nd Qtr.

Hey Canadians: Leo's in Vancouver seems to have the best price at $2559. I got to put my hands on one and it is VERY nice. Wish I could afford it!

I'm out there next week Dave - maybe I should pick one up !! :)

This is the one/last film camera that I would be willing to buy (even with the slowish lens), but I think the price is just so poorly conceived. At this price, I think I'd rather get a Nikon FX body, even if I had to pay a little more.
