Consumer Kodachrome no longer carried at B&H

Misinformation and a Clarification from B&H

Misinformation and a Clarification from B&H

A similar thread was labeled "MISINFORMATION" and deleted at APUG.

Monitors? Joe? Anybody?

Thanks Henry! I am glad you got the word from Dwayne's. Better late than never.

As an aside, I found out the other day the travel plans of my K64 photos. I always assumed that my local lab sent to a lab out of town and that lab sent to Dwayne's. I found out there's another step.

My local lab>lab in Toronto>Kodak lab>Dwayne's>Kodak lab>lab in Toronto>My local lab

No wonder it takes me a month to get my photos! I think next time I'm going to send straight to Dwayne's (which is what I have to do once that Kodak lab shuts down, anyway).

On the other hand, a number of people had Kodachrome cross their desk in that month. They can't say "I never see that film any more, nobody seems to use it." But it shouldn't take a month. You might ask about that :)

nice to see that B&H monitors photo forums and that they picked up information here that will help Kodachrome continue to survive.

Mr. Posner, I'll be by in a couple of weeks to pick up some K64 for my upcoming trip to Mexico :D.

The DISC on our site was in part because it was out of stock and in part because we'd received word processing had become scarce. We now know of a processing facility and will continue to carry Kodachrome as long as it's possible to do so.

Somebody rename or kill this thread.

No doubt Kodachrome is "officially" dead in multiple languages on multiple Internet forums.

Misinformation and rumors. Bah! Humbug!

Maybe then we can save it!

I think we did save it for now. And by we I mean forums on RFF, APUG, Photo.net and mine at the Kodachrome Project.

The other thing that has spiked use / saved it is the AP article that came out a bit ago.

Just because a medium and it's processing is no longer main stream and available everywhere does not mean it is gone. It is just how it works when a company like Kodak streamlines the product and service to meet demand.

I think that says a lot in a crap world economy and predominately digital age.

Feeding the Trolls

Feeding the Trolls

OK. Rumor-Myth Busting.

Kodak makes Kodachrome film.

Kodachrome film is sold by numerous vendors around the globe.

Dwayne's Photo in Parsons, Kansas processes Kodachrome film AND sells Kodachrome film.

GOOGLE knows all. GOOGLE tells all. It's easy. Use it.

How do the other Kodak slide films compare to the legendary Kodachrome?

I wanted to try some...but then I saw this I panicked a little, but now I know there are other places to get it and BH will start to carry it again.

Only one way to find out: Shoot a lot of each and compare your results. Report back to us. :D

Have fun!
