Contaflex Super BC

My Contaflex Super BC arrived today in good working order. However as warned by the seller the battery door latch is broken and missing. I put a battery in it and held it shut with my finger and set to auto. The meter came to life. Quick tests shows the meter to be reasonably accurate .

I know this is probably a longshot but I'm asking anyway.. Anybody know where the part can be gotten. Parts cameras on eBay are somewhat overpriced..

If you find one, note that attached to the inside of the door there is a plastic bracket shaped to fit the battery and hold it firmly in place. Sometimes it becomes detached and without it the door proper does not do a very good job of securing the battery against the contacts. So you should ensure that it is present in any part or donor camera you procure.

I wonder if Flutots is worth asking? They are lens shutter specialists and I think they might have serviced Contaflexes at one stage. According to their site I believe they now specialise in LF shutters if I am not mistaken. Pacific Rim move a bit of Contaflex stuff too. Their stock list does not inspire confidence from the condition descriptions but you only need a parts camera with that one part. The Contaflex S is mechanically identical to the BC. It was just a re-badging exercise—a part from either model will do.

This one does have the bracket you refer to but the latch is broken off and gone. If I knew what it looked like and the size I could with a little luck make on...

Pacific camera doesn't have any BC's and their price is also a bit high even on their broken cameras..

I found a couple of parts cameras on eBay but they replied to my question that their's is also broken..

I really don't need it since it only powers the auto feature but it would be nice just the same..
