Contax flash with R3A

I have opportunity to obtain Contax TLA 140 flash, cheaply... it looks like a nice little flash...
I don't need nor want flash for my photography, but it would be nice to have it in bag (especially this small) for every day shots like birthdays and similar occasions!

What do you think about it, and can it be used with Bessa?

Hi, Nikola!

I've got a TLA200 on the way, and asked whether or not it would work in my Bessa "R". 3 different posts assured me that it would work, so I imagine that the 140 will work, too. It might NOT work automatically, requiring you to set the flash manually, as I will have to do with my "R".

Slightly OT, but i want to know whether an old flash with 120V trigger voltage will fry my R3A.

Dunno for sure, but I'd avoid the possibility. There's an adaptor made by WEIN I've seen advertised that would take care of the problem, and if you ask around (Google), you'll probably find lots of help, if help doesn't show up here!

Finally I concluded that I don't like it, so I didn't bought it! 🙂
It will work but as manual flash, as Don said.
