Contax G1 successor

it's been draining batteries very fast -- within a few days, and today it wont turn on.

I got it for $120, so no point fixing it. But I love the 45mm planar, and want to keep using it.

What would you suggest?
1. Another G1 for $120
2. G2 for ~ $400
3. Convert the 45mm planar to leica m mount (ebay seller jieying-usa) and use on my zeiss ikon zm?. this should cost about the same as buying a G2.

While I am good with the contax af, I'm equally good with rf -- so thats not an issue.

I would go for the conversion. You can then use on an M film or digital body or Sony/Fuji/Ricoh digital mirrorless bodies (some full feae).

Does anyone have a contact for doing the conversion of Contax lenses for the G1/G2 to Leica M mount? I can't find it on ebay. I have a G1 which I never use, with a lovely 28mm Biogon that should be doing more than gathering dust. Do the converted lenses couple properly with the Leica RF?

As I understand it, yes they couple. My conversion was done via http://www.japanexposures.com/lens/

Anerjee, I'd check the possibility of a return instead. If you just got the body, I mean... And you're right, fixing it would cost more than you paid.

I would go for a G2 if you definitely want to stay with film.
I had a G2 with the perfect 21mm Biogon, the 28mm, the 45mm and the 90mm.
Absolutely loved this setup, but sold the whole in favor of Digital.
The 21mm and the 45 were my most loved / used focal length.
(focusing the 90 was a hit and miss affair)
Now slowly building the same set with the X-Pro1 (which also has very good and useful zooms)
