Contax I reference books

Hi there,

Is there a 'bible' that covers the development and variations of the Contax I (and perhaps includes something on its cousin the Super Nettel?).

Any details on internal changes?

Or...is there something that covers all pre war Zeiss Contax but still gives the Contax I detailed coverage?

And, is there a repair or servicing guide for these cameras?

I'd like to have a go at a CLA myself, I've done Kiev's with reasonable success before, so any advice welcome

One suggestion is called "On the Trail of the Contax", by Hans Jurgen Kuc. I don't remember what it is called in original language, i.e., German. The book is in two volumes, and volume 1 has a lot of info on the various Contax 1 models. Not much in the way of technical considerations, maintenance or or repair, though.

Thanks, I will try and get myself a copy.

Interestingly my most recently acquired Contax I has managed to heal itself. Daily exercise for a week gently working up and down through the shutter speed range and now I can't fault it. I'll try a film this weekend and see what happens.
