Contax IIa with CZJ 50 f2

Robert, if it were my only Contax, I would not sell it. I had 2 IIa cameras refurbished by HS and am keeping one of them. Contax is a fling on the side for me. I recently got a pre-war Contax II and am getting Mike Elek (ZeissFan) to cla it. Two Contaxes are enough for me. Well, maybe 3 - I've got a line on a T.

Congrat's on the transaction guys! Joe, I'm sure you'll love your 'new' Contax! If your old Kiev tempted you away from your P's you might be in for another struggle... I must admit that since getting my Contax it has been getting all the attention. Mine hasn't had a trip to the HS spa either.

i think i'll be ok now as i am spoiled rotten by the vf, the framelines and the ae of the zi cameras.

the contax is gonna be the sunny 16 or hh meter, slow walks, not a care in the world kinda camera for me.

i have been thinking (for quite awhile now) about a slower paced camera and thought it would be something that would accept m mount lenses.
but this contax fits the history better (pre zi). i also like the idea of using only a 50 on it. so this will also be my one body/one lens camera.

it fills just so many needs...;)

Considering the service this camera just received, it is a was for sale for a great price.

Frank - why did you sell? I'm #81 on Henry's list - so my camera should be here in about 2 years. I just wish that I'd seen your classified ad first!

I am #7, otherwise I would have bought it.

I added a second IIa BD body and lens to Henry's wait list. I figure that I'll want a second body at some point - and, since the list is 2 years long, I need to decide now!

I mostly shoot medium and large format. But you just can't beat a 35mm range finder for low light shooting.

Good deal Joe and Frank, that is a nice camera, better that it is staying in the family.

I just want the 7sii.

the mail has been gawd awful slow lately, i still have one (om) camera and 2 lenses, the minolta, a lightbox, couple of straps on the way.

and now the contax but i'm hoping that being in canada it will move quicker.

Congratulations Joe. Getting a specially cleaned Contax from someone like Frank has to be a treat. I sold my Contax IIa with Sonnar Opton (?) for a meager $250 when I did not know what I had.

you are bad!!
;)

actually the 50/1.5 would be very nice...

Oh well ....

It will be much easier to get a lens bargain than a Contax body bargain. The bodies are risky and will most likely need service. Welll you avoided that cliff...;)

You will have much fun.
Right now I am using my IIa BD much more than my IIIa CD. It is just such a nice unobstrusive camera.

You're a lucky man, Joe. Frank showed me this camera after he got it back and I'm still salivating. If I'd had $500 sitting around, I'd have jumped on it.

Joe,
you can say that again. I just got my first Leica rangefinder, an M4-P, that was sent on the 29th of December. I think it was brought from Philly to Baltimore on the back of a turtle:D:D:D

Congrats on your IIa - that is one hell of a beautiful camera, and if I hadn't been waiting for my Leica, I would have snagged that in a nano-hearbeat:D:D Enjoy it, and I look forward to the images you post from it.
