Contax IIa with CZJ 50 f2

gotta love the postman/woman...

i just went to let the dog out and sitting at my door was 2 boxes.
one had a domke gripper (thanks to john m) and the other was a rather large box from some guy named frank! ;)

inside the large box was a small canvas camera bag and inside the camera bag was a even smaller box and inside the box was a camera ever ready case and inside that was a really nice looking contax lla!!

i should mention that the small box was in a large baggie and the camera was inside another baggie, and there were copious amounts of bubble wrap involved too!
this parcel would have to have been dropped off the cn tower to impact the camera!

anyway, i'm sitting here, shiny 'new' camera in hand and i have this really big grin on my face...

Now, if it were me, i would have wrapped a block of wood in all that wrap and paper and the real camera would arrive tomorrow with a note saying,

"Got Ya!!!" :D

Congtrats, I am now #6 on the big list, I can't wait.

Purrrrrdy.

I need to finish up the roll in the cam so i will take a bunch of shots tonight.

Congrat's Joe! How does it feel to be a Contax owner??? It sounds like I'm now competing with another broke RFFer for the slim pickings on Sonnar 50/1.5's... Good luck, & if you find 2 let me know ;)

Looking forward to seeing some pics.

Peter

feels good peter.

i just went for a walk with the camera but the wind is blowing too much for me and it's damn cold, too cold for much of a walk.
maybe i'll fire up the tungsten light and try a still life or 2.

It'd be nice to see a digi pic of it in Edmonton.

Beautiful camera.... glad it found a good home. This will be a change of pace from what you're used to, but its a very capable machine, when you master the "grip". I enjoy using mine, and am fortunate enough to use the 1.5 most of the time. Not really much difference between the 2 lenses, except the gain in speed.

Harry

thanks harry.

if i get a 50/1.5 that would be great but i am not in a rush and it's mostly the reputation of the lens that draws me in.

the lla is a nice size, pretty comfortable in my hand and feels very solid.

i look forward to warm days, long walks and some leisurely shooting.

My feeling is that this is one of those classic "cameras for a lifetime." For me, these also include the M3 and Rolleiflex.
