I know this has been discussed before, but who in the US can go through a Zeiss IIIa and restore to as new in a time span less than two years of wait on the waiting list?

Eddy's great.
In July of '06 sent my Contax IIIa for CLA to:
Steve Serota
Camera Care
P.O Box 973
Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006-0973
215/310-9559
info@camera-care.com
http://camera-care.com/
Arrived back 13 days later with this listed work done:
Disassemble
Overhaul focusing helicoid
Adjust & clean the range/viewfinder
Replace photocell (new cell $45) and calibrate meter
Clean, lube, adjust wind mechanism
Clean, lube, adjust shutter, set speeds and curtain travel times
Clean, lube, adjust 1.5/50mm Sonnar that had a dry aperture ring.
Replace several missing screws
Remove "Zeiss bumps" from film back
Reassemble and check operation; $189.95 total cost.
Thought that was fast and economical, and the camera runs smoothly. Good communication too. But that was nearly 4 years ago...
