Contax IIIa Strap Lug Came Off! Help!

The strap lug at the rewind end of my camera came off. There's a hole through the end of it as if it had a cotter pin in it that broke(?). Is the pim Now rolling around somewhere inside the camera? Is this a DIY fix? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks. That's exactly what I wanted to know. Glad the camera didn't fall! It doesn't seem to have anything rattling around inside, so I guess I'll just use it strapless.

Is the pin now rolling around somewhere inside the camera?

It depends at what point the strap lug shaft broke, but chances are, that the hidden end is still in place, thanks to the fitting screw. So, no pin rollling somewhere inside the camera.

The only fix resides in a total dissassembly of the top cover - which is a PITA on a IIIa - and a replacement of the broken lug unit.
