I am saturated in pre-war Contax / Kiev - but am becoming curious .
My fave seller has a good IIIa body , cla , with dud lens [ seems to be a bitsa with no front ]
Can I fit a J 8 or pre war lens to it ?
Sorry - really ignorant about the later cameras .

Every lens except the pre-war/Wartime 35/2.8 Biogon and J-12 copy of it will fit post-war Contax bodies.

Those lenses will fit and work on a Nikon RF. I always found it odd that Zeiss would make a camera that could not take the Biogon and that Nikon did.

As Brian noted, the pre-WW2 Biogon and J-12 will not fit on the Contax IIIa. The Biogon was redesigned by Zeiss Opton in order to fit on the post-war Contax IIa and IIIa
