Contax RF Adapter Question

Hi-

I recently purchased the RJ adapter for Nikon S / Contax RF only to find out that it doesn't mate with my 50mm Opton Sonnar 1.5.

I also saw that Amedeo's adapter, while accepting the 50mm lens, doesn't properly fit on an e-P2 (evidently he's working on a design revision for it).

Does anyone know of an adapter that successfully marries a Contax RF 50mm lens to an e-P2?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

You are aware that the helical for 50mm lenses is part of the Contax body, not the lens?

Hi sevo, yes I am aware. I have a contax IIa. I believe that Amedeo's adapter contains a helical. I naively assumed that the RJ adapter did as well. I guess my question should've more clearly inquired about which adapters integrate helicals into their design and function with an e-p2.

Since posting this, I've received a PM from Amedeo stating that he expects to test a modified version of his adapter. I'm hoping that his fix will solve the problem. But I'm curious to know of other options that exist. Thanks

The other option is to use two adapters: one of Amedeo's Nikon or Contax to Leica M adapters, combined with a Leica M to micro 4/3 adapter. This is what I use with my CZO Sonnar.

I thought about that, too...but you're right - the price is a lot higher. I also have an M3, though, so the M adapter wouldn't be a needless expense of money. All good food for thought. Thanks

I know Amedeo Lolli makes an adapter for Contax RF mount with inner and external bayonets, search for adrianololli.com
