Hey guys.

Just picked up a T from an RFFer and need to replace the seals. I have read online that originally, the camera had foam in the film canister area to prevent it from rattling. Does anyone have a photo of their T with the back removed that may show this foam?

As have two Contax t cameras. Neither requires foam for the light seals in the area of the film back that other 35mm cameras did due to the design of their light traps for the back.

The only place I have ever found any foam is in the canister area as u have mentioned. Here is a shot from my iPhone.

The contax T is my all time favorite pocketable take anywhere film camera.. Take the flash unit off. It fits in jean pockets no problem. Nice rf vf. Great scale focus lens w/ f8 hyper focal point mark in the lens..

Have fun w/ it.

In closer inspection, it is more pad then felt in design. The felt is very thin. There is a metal tab maybe half a mm thick running the length of the felt. It is position under the tab w/ about a mm or two underneath the tab. The width of the felt is about 5mm. The thickness of the felt is about the same or slightly less then the metal tab.
