Contax T question - RF Patch?

I just got a Contax T- looks and operates great. One question I have is what the diamond shaped RF patch is supposed to look like? When I look through the VF, the patch itself seems "out of focus". The frame lines and shutter speeds all are very clear, and it's still easy to see when something is in focus, it's just that the patch is not well defined (even though the contrast is fine)

Can anyone with a Contax T let me know how their RF Patch looks... sharp well defined edges?

That's not too unusual.

As long as stationary (primary) and moving (secondary) images within the patch are well defined, that's normal. This is typical of all basic compact RF cameras to have the patch borders to be ill defined. Only a few premium RF cameras most notably Leica, Cosina, Konica and Zeiss have well defined patches allowing use of split image as well as coincidence for focus determination.

Normal. Edges are not well defined, just focus on the middle of the diamond.

Ok great! Yes, the primary and secondary images are well defined- pretty quick to focus. I have my first roll hung to dry.

From today's test roll (TMAX 400). A 'real' camera that can actually fit in the pocket of my jeans has been a long held ideal- this is going to be great 🙂

I'd love an XD (or dXA or XA-d or XAd), but the XA is so small because its lens is so close to the film plane. I wonder how close Olympus could get a lens to a digital sensor - APS-C or FF regardless.

If the existing EOS M (which I have) is any indication, pretty (damn) close, considering the circumstances. In the first picture you see how thin a four thirds camera can get. Subcompact fixed lens cameras with APSC+ sensors would be great, but... smartphones. The EOS M fits in my jeans pocket (with the lens bulging) and very comfortably in a typical coat pocket. I would like to get a Yashica Super D eventually and if I do it would be interesting to compare how I use them.
