Shoot first, think later
Hi, looking for advice on an issue with my Contaxt T2. After replacing the battery (3V 123 series lithium), and screwing in the battery comp. lid, the camera has no power. If I unscrew the lid just a tad, less than 1mm, the power comes on and the camera works fine - but the lid is somewhat loose, I am afraid to loose it.
There is no apparent damage to the lid, inside or out. The battery contact inside the battery comp. looks clean and does not appear bent or damaged in any way.
The only thing I can think of is the internal contact is loose somewhere, and full closure of the battery compartment causes it to disconnect.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Btw, is there such a thing as CLA for a P&S?
Thanks,

How did you change the lithium battery in your camera? I have a contax 167MT and I think the lithium back-up battery is dying. I do not know where it is in the camera. Would you have any idea on where to find and how easy it might be to replace it myself? Thanks, Amr

I wish I could help you with an answer. Unfortunately, all I did to solve my problem was send the T2 to TOCAD. They charged me $165 but the T2 is like new right now.
I have no earthy idea where the internal battery might be, even if there is one in the T2..., sorry.
