Contax T2 Flash Problem

Hey guys,

I'm experiencing an issue with a recently purchased Contax T2. When shooting with flash, the camera will occasionally lock up with the lens extended and shutter open. I will then have to remove the battery and reinsert for everything to go back to normal.

A similar issue was documented HERE but it seems no solution was found.

Does anyone here have any idea how to solve this?

I have exactly the same issue.

As far as I know there is a fix but it requires the camera
to be sent off for repair.

Sorry that isn’t particularly helpful but at least you know your issue isn’t unique

After reading that it may have something to do with the battery contacts, I fiddled with the compartment a bit, pushing down a little on the contacts and also pushing down on the battery before putting the battery cover back on. Have been trying a few flash shots every 45 minutes or so and every shot has been fine.

Not sure if I'm just getting lucky or what, but this could be worth a try.
