I don't care if it is repairable, because it costs twice less to by another working one for another $65.
My XA went from +40C to - 30C temperatures with me. And still working.

Ha, I'm just packing my XA4 up to send off for a repair; it must be the curse of RFF...

PS Do you really pay that much for them? My last one cost three pounds and fifty pence. About five or so US dollars but I had to buy new batteries for it.

I agree that the XA is not great. Lots of vignetting and a decent but not great lens. You can make great photos with it but occasionally it will ruin your day by not rendering something they way you thought and ruin something with vignetting or terrible lens flare.

I would go with the Yashica T4. I actually prefer the rendition of the Tessar in the T4 to the Sonnar in the T2 maybe not for sharpness but certainly for lovliness and bokeh.

XAs are pretty rare around here. I had to buy my first off eBay at a similar price. Even at camera shows, they fetch $50+

Anybody have any idea how the XA series sold in North America?

How about Rollei 35W QZ? You be the judge. It is a rare camera and much bigger than T3, but still a point a shoot.
