contax teleconverter

Hello,

I have what was advertised as a teleconverter for the Contax rangefinder cameras, it's got some separation around the edge of the lenses.

It's no use with the rangefinder lenses, though I'd guess it may be designed to work with the reflex housing, or when used on a stand with the single frame back.

I've had it around 10 years and recently thought it might be interesting to ask about - there's little written about them. Additionally, (within forum rules) I'm also curious to know what it's worth (not look to sell in this thread).

It may be 1950's or older, I suspect there's a very light coating.

It looks to be the same but equipped with a different mount (no release tab).. shall have a further google.
