Contax TLA 140 flash with RCR123 battery?

Hi everyone,

You guys know if I could use RCR123 rechargeable batteries on my 140 flash for contax G series? Not sure if it would be ok, since normal CR123 batteries run at 3V and rechargeable ones at 3.7V

Would it be a problem, would I burn the flash or just would flash brighter?

It did not damage anything, but the recyclables I had only provided enough power for some twenty flashes, at very slow cycle times (upwards of half a minute to start with, downhill from there). Their nominal capacity was half of CR123, and the current obviously was below requirements - YMMV, the specs and quality of different RCR123 types seem to be rather variable.

I use rechargable CR2s in the TLA200 without problems. I bought the highest capacity ones I could find and they generally last longer than standard alkalines in my other small flashes. Not the same, but maybe it helps.
