Contax to what ? Nikon. .. ... ?

Greetings all. My old stiff Contact IIIA RF is sadly not working. Any chance the lens will fit a Nikon RF body? Very nice lens to have gathering dust and besides the CZJ 50/!.5's are a favourite of mine.

Yes it will mount a Nikon S body with no problems HOWEVER the thread pitch on Contax is slightly different than Nikon so the focus will be slightly different. I have found that its no problem until you get to longer lenses (like above 50). On wides, there is hardly any issue at all. To play it safe I use the lens stopped down more than I would if it was a Nikon lens.

Or you might consider buying a CV R2C Bessa which has the Contax rangefinder mount. Excellent camera with built in meter and top speed of 1/2000th second.
I have the Nikon S-mount version and am very pleased with it.
