Hello all,
I just placed an order for a very nice Contax TVS I. The net doesn't have much to say about it so I'm curious to hear others' thoughts and maybe start a thread with images and thoughts about the TVS.
So let's go! I'll have mine in a day or two and will try and get some images for you guys from it ASAP!
Best
Matthew

I used to have a TVSIII and thought it was pretty good. A few weeks ago I was routing through my pics and spotted some from the TVSIII. I was very impressed. More so than when I actually owned it. Odd that... I kind of suspect that sometimes a persons expectation gets out of proportion and no matter how good the pics are, your perspective is on the negative side. I think the lens is pretty much the same on the I, II, III. Just manual focus on the TVSI where as the other two have motorised. I'll try to find them again and scan a few shots. I recall they were very sharp with plenty of contrast.

Ah. Good to hear. I think they revamped the optics for the III, but they all sport that Zeiss T* name on them so I would think they would be comparable.
I thought about getting the III, but I don't like that drawbridge lens cover thing. I had a Minox once and although I really liked the images it made, I couldn't get used to that door. I always thought if it was going to have that door, It would need to hinge on the side and have a small bellows like an old folder camera...

Came in handy as a lens hood in bright sunshine. Just turn the camera upside down!

Hello,
Reviving this old thread to find out if anyone knows where I can find the owner's manual for the TVS I online. I googled it already but could only find it in Japanese.
Thank you!

Worth to spend 200usd if camera has no issues. Bought one for 100 usd but it had intermittent fault when zooming , it would keep switching itself off and few other issues, i have asked technician if they can repair it but there is no parts and it would be expensive to have it fixed. On the good side, i did put 2 rolls through it and resuls were very nice , good lens at wide angle and i belive it has bigger than contax g viewfinder .
