I'm a bit fed up with not being able to have my Leica IIIc hanging from my wrist while I walk about the city core here in Toronto.

I dislike having it in any camera bag because it's small enough that I should be able to have it on my wrist.

The problem, of course, is that I don't have a wrist strap for it currently.

Go ahead folks, convince me which would be "better" per se - based, hopefully, on personal experience.

I've got a black Luigi strap. The wide leather is very comfortable; it's long enough (but not too long) to allow me to wrap the strap a couple of different ways, and it cinches up and stays "cinched." It's very easy to get in and out of the strap. It's well-made; I've no fear that my M4-P will break free and hit the ground. It looks great, too.

🙂

Luigi straps are wonderful. You will never go wrong with them. My M3 hangs on a Luigi as will my Contax when it arrives.

My Canon IV and Leica IIIc are on Gordy wrist straps. Simple, inexpensive and great for small cameras.

why attach parts of a dead animal to your camera? what's the appeal in that?

Oh.. don't know.. maybe because I can't find a synthetic strap that not only looks good but also is functional.

Last time I checked, cows were not on the endangered species list.

hard to go wrong with either i would think.

gordy's are more rugged looking and luigi's look a bit more refined.

for you dave perhaps some old hockey laces?

😉

How about something "rugged yet refined".. hmm... electrical wire? 😀

I have three of Gordy's staps - one each for my IIIf's and the other for my Bessa.

No problems so far and they feel very comfortable. Luigi's straps do look good though. I guess it may come down to your own aesthetic judgement.

"I love the smell of Gordy Coale's camera strap in the morning!!!" he said with a completely insane look in his eyes. I have 2 of Gordy's straps and they are on my bodies 90% of time. They are simple, but well made and "rugged" as well. I think they look terriific. They cinch up fine. I'm sure Luigi's are great, but I'm saving for the brown croc case.....someday....

Love my Gordy strap! Never leaves my IIf. Planning to get another one for my Bessa R2A. No Barnack Leica should be without one.

I carry a little grey poupon in the bag for flavoring.
