been selling some old electronics and speakers on kijiji and i now have enough cash to buy a new camera...also sold my second xe1 with 16-50 zoom...if i buy local and buy new i can go for either a fuji xe2 or the newer xt10...a newer model would be nice except i don't really care for the looks of that lump in the middle top of the body! i love the feel of the xe1 and therefore the xe2 should follow suit. should the firmware upgrade become reality for the xe2 then it will be pretty darn close to the xt10...i will decide by friday...

The Xe2 seems great.
I got an XA1 in order to try tge Fuji lenses on a bayer sensor.
Gotta say.... Fuji does Bayer very nicely. It's a beautiful little camera.
The "if only" is of course .... If only it had a viewfinder.
In your position I would let that money burn out a few pockets.
Fuji always comes out with big deals in fall which is right around the corner

I'm about to take my X100s, X-Pro 1 & a TCL-100 in to my camera store to replace all with an X-T10 (I would prefer an X-T1 but it's out of my reach). Why have I decided to do that, especially with the X100s? Well, the X-T10 is really an X100s/t with the ability to change lenses as per the X-Pro 1. It will give me the ability to see what I will get image wise rather than a parallax screwed version but the biggest reason for buying it is because of the focusing sensor. I do street photography and with the X-Pro 1 you have to watch where you choose the focus point is to get the image you want. I took it out last weekend and found a band playing to a crowd. To get the shot, I had to hold the camera above the crowd a and hope if get the players in focus. Sadly the only band member in focus was the guy at the back in the middle of the image. With the X-T10, I would have gotten more of the band in focus as the tilting display would have allowed me to see what being focused on. So I'd say go for the X-T10 rather than the X-E2 as it will be more versatile and a better camera too. Flickr: thesrpspaintshop
What do you expect to gain with the X-E2 vs. the X-E1?

I see... you might be disappointed in all but the brightest of light.

I recommend the XE-2. The extra CPU speed significantly improves AF flexibility and performance. If I remember correctly, there is supposed to be a XE-2 firmware update this fall.
I don't mind the hump on the X-T1, but I prefer the XE-1/2 form factor. I'm not sure how the X-T10 EVF compares with the X-T1 EVF. Of course the XE-2 EVF will be an improvement over the XE-1 EVF.

That's a good point.

In the U.S., xe2 and xt10 are going for same price new at B&H. If u can live w/ the hump, I would say xt10 because
- fw update is not guaranteed to have all the new af features as the xt10
- the grip is better
- the extra dial on the left side for drive control
- video on Fuji has never been the best, but supposedly they were said to improve it. But nothing beats the Sony and Panasonic for video in mirrorless.
- the newer tech by about maybe 1 year

Not to be argumentative, but as someone who shoots fuji in widely varying light, I'd say it a bit differently: you might be pleased in all but the darkest or point contrast light.

Well, I used Fujis for years (X100 x 3, X-Pro1, X-E1, and X-T1)... the X-T1 still wasn't good enough with the lenses I wanted to use. We most likely photograph in different ways and that is probably where the disconnect occurs with regard to disappointed / pleased.

the xe1 has worked for me so i think either the xe2 or the x10 would be an improvement…with a small increase in af speed it will suit my needs/style perfectly…the tilted screen is something i miss from other cameras i have had in the past and may be the deciding factor…i'm heading to the camera store in minutes...
Good luck BA.

xt10 just too small, especially with my lenses...

What lenses are you using. I have my XF-35 on it and it's a nice size. Haven't yet tried my XF-60 yet though.xt10 just too small, especially with my lenses...
