Found this photog's site. Some very cool, contemplative street shots in Tokyo and Paris.
Check out his use of the 50 cron and also his use of the 35/1.2 Nokton. Very impressive. I think he has a very good eye.

Thanks for posting the link, his photography is very good indeed and worthy of a more detailed look. I've bookmarked his site and will check it out in detail later.
This definitely deserves a bump.

Great stuff -- very well observed and gives a sense of stillness; hard to do in a place as busy as Tokyo. Now, can someone explain to me the significance of the knotted paper (?) in Tokyo #50? (I'll refrain from commenting on the out of focus characteristics of the light fixture!)

WOW that 1.2 Nokton is soooo creamy! Who needs a Summilux!?
Can ya tell which pics were shot at 1.2??

At Shinto Shrines you can buy pieces of paper and write your hope/prayer/wish on it. Then you tie it to something on the Shrine grounds (the bars in the picture are for this purpose specifically although a tree is often used as well), clap and pray for it to come true.

Oh, and thanks for the link - it brought back great memories of Japan as well as reminding me that the quest for better equipment is ultimately less fruitful than the quest for a better eye.
Wait, did I say that out loud?

Wait, did I say that out loud?
But it would be the best if you can do both.

Yeah, but a 35 'lux AND a 35 nokton, surely that's just greedy
Thanks for the link, Tom.

Thanks for the link. Good stuff that and my wife just came home from work in time to to share it with me. She loves things Japanese, even to the point of studying Hirigana, Katakana and Romanji forms of writing on her own. I enjoyed his shots with Neopan film as I am thinking about trying some bulk stuff from Megaperls www.unicircuits.com/shop/
