Cool photos of the 1968 Paris France riots

And in some US cities it is every other week, I gather? ...

No, not riots or protests, just mass shootings every week. Freedom of expression, freedom of the press, the right to assemble - those have all been declared un-American lately. I'll stop before I write too much.

As for the photos - I'd hate to have been anybody unfortunate enough to have parked their car on those streets, and come back to find it all dented and scratched up - or on its roof and burned up. Although some of that may have been done by those seeking to discredit the protests.

I'm not sure 'cool' is the term I'd use to describe riots, but yes, they are definitely interesting photos.

Wait, agents provocateurs  in a developed Democratic society?

You must be kidding!

Or you happen to know things you shan't talk about :p

It's always interesting to see and remember what happened times ago, 50 years are enough to make this series interesting...

robert, who was young in the '68

Hmm, Looks like another disastrous Paris Commune could be set up and it will end up being as tragic and murderous as the one in 1871 .

You're earnestly comparing Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron in 2018 to Marie Joseph Louis Adolphe Thiers in 1871?

"Thiers, that monstrous gnome, has charmed the French bourgeoisie for almost half a century, because he is the most consummate intellectual expression of their own class corruption. ... Thiers was consistent only in his greed for wealth and his hatred of the men that produce it."

Not really. My advice, don't rely on youtube in an attempt to understand the world. Cheers

Youtube can be as accurate or inaccurate as any other media medium, including photography.

Ernest Appert's phoney photo montages of so called scenes from the 1871 Paris Commune are a good example , as say compared to Bruno Braquehais more straight forward documentary style of photography of the same 1871 event, even with the limitations of wet plate photography of the era.

There is nothing new under the sun where mankind is concerned.

History tends to repeat its self.

Agreed, and stupidity tends to repeat itself as well. Cheers

Everything tends to repeat its self , the good , the bad, the indifferent and the caring.

It must be part and parcel of the downloaded program for humanity and all part of the "big show" of this illusion that we call life.
