After a week of much work followed by crap weather I finally got an afternoon shooting with Coolpix A. What I think of the camera is in the other thread, here are the pictures. All shot JPEG (got no raw support yet), all ISO 640-800. Firmware 1.0 (maybe beta).

The photos are great no matter what camera they came from. Great work. As far as guitar porn goes...good grief that last photo. I would love to play that guitar.

Depending on the responsiveness/operation of this camera (the image quality looks incredible) this camera looks like a winner.
There's some basic operational issues that need to be determined with regards to shutter lag while in scale focus mode though. Does the lens move into position when scale focusing before each press of the shutter or does the lens move into position to the desired distance on the first shutter press and then remain there indefinitely or until it goes into sleep mode?

Nice set of shots. Nikon may have a winner here... Looks better than what I have seen so far from the canon m. Hope Nikon does well here. I am not interested in it, but having a thriving market segment here is going to be great.

Shot at 3200 and it was good, wouldn't shy away from it. haven't tried 6400, but the way I see it the camera produces results same as enthusiast Nikon SLR, so.

Metering looks really impressive - it's cool to see such perfectly exposed pictures with backlighting -- although that might be done in photoshop later.

How's the AF speed of the Coolpix A? I previously had the Leica X1, and was always a little disappointed with it's indoor AF performance.
