Hi there! I've upgraded to the V from the 4000 but.. Don't have the FH3 filmstrap and I'm new with the SA21 adapter..

I have straps cut in 6 frames each one but I have this issue:

Could You help me? What's wrong with the SA-21 adapter? Doesn't take the frames properly, takes half and almost half of the next one..

It happens from time to time. Especially if the part of the first frame closest to the outside edge is dark as the scanner has a hard time determining where the frame starts. Try scanning your film upside down (i.e. feed the 6th frame into the scanner first). That usually solves the problem for me.

Hey Bruno

A couple of things to keep in mind.

When inserting the strip, make sure you put it in straight (that it doesnt catch edges on anything before being taken up by the SA21 film loader).

Basically, make sure the film is being "eaten up" by the scanner as soon as it starts making a noise. I found that on the V ED if I don't do this, it will always be offset.

If the offset is always the same, you can use "compensasion del fotograma" as a positive or negative number, in mm's. Not sure which one shifts it left or right, but I get it by trial and error.

if you put -5.35 it will shift 5.35mm of the film strip in a certain direction.

Ey Fred, how are You!? Good to see You!! :D

That's worked for me, the compensation!!

Another further question... it has the same quality in the output image than the FH3 filmstrap? I meant.. flat frames.

I'll try with next ones!

I have an FH3, I've used it once.

Middle frames on the sa21 are perfect, edge frames, where the film curls, can be out of focus if FH3 is not used or if the film is not perfectly flat.

I don't really bother as a tad bit of cropping will do
