Coolscan V / LS-50 ED wont turn on

I've opened it up, had a look inside, nothing looks out of place, brunt, or otherwise indicative of any physical damage.

Can't find any info regarding this online. Any ideas?

Has anyone sent one of these recently to Nikon for service?

Unfortunately it happens (happened to my LS-8000).
It's the Power Supply Unit. Needs a trip to a repair service, but shouldn't be too costly (mine was $200 all inclusive).
