I've got a good user CLE that's developed a loose winding lever. It doesn't have enough tension/friction to stay against the body after advancing the film. Doesn't prevent shooting, but it's kind of annoying to have it flopping around.
For those home repair folks out there, is this as simple as getting the cap off the top of the lever and tightening something underneath? I don't want to try taking the lever apart if it isn't easy after I'm in there. I won't hesitate taking it to a local shop if it isn't a straightforward DIY repair.
Thoughts? Experience? Cautions?

Well, fiddle with stuff long enough and it works itself out, right? I noticed as the lever became looser that the cap on the lever loosened as well. With dry fingers, I could unscrew it, to show the sprung washer beneath (see photo).
No worries. I just screwed the cover back on the threaded post finger tight, then cinched it down with a bit of tack cloth for friction. Now it behaves like you'd expect. And I know a little more about the CLE.

This is an old thread but I am a new user of the CLE with the same issue. The cap is reverse threaded, but you already knew that

After reading this oldpost, I remembered that I purchased a spanner it many years ago. I dug it out of my toolbox and it was there with the selection of tips, still useable and I was able to tighten it better, It isn't super tight maybe, but it is much better. I don't know how tight itis supposed to be, however. so thank you, bkrystad!
