Hello, fellow HRFers; glad to see this thread started.

Back in 2000 I was waiting patiently for the much-rumored M7, but I eventually got tired of waiting and went for the HRF when it appeared.

Soon after, I had quite of bit of trouble with the VF/rf and Konica finally replaced the camera. No trouble since. However, as an eyeglass wearer, I have some difficulty focussing accurately with the low mag of the VF, especially apparent when I a borrowed 75mm Leica lens. Otherwise, I think the HRF is a great camera, the M7 that Leica should have made.

Having said that, I recently bought an M7 with the 0.85 VF. Now I'm wallowing in the RF world and not regreting it. 😀

My biggest fear is that someday the HRF will need adjustment/repair and I wouldn't know where to turn. Any thoughts on that issue much appreciated.

My kit is now composed of the 28mm f/2.8 and the f/2 50mm Hexanons and the 35mm asph Cron (bought new) and 90mm Cron (1983 version.) I use the 35 and 50 on both bodies, but the 28 is dedicated to the HRF.

My intention is to get the 75mm Summarit when it appears, and that will put an end to my GAS. I hope.

Harry: glad to hear of your HRF/M7 setup (I don't know of many with both these cameras in tow). What to do when the HRF breaks, I can't tell you at the moment, as I'm still trying to sleuth those details out. However, it might give comfort to know that I've put a lot of mileage on both my Hexars with nary a peep from either.

Looking forward on your take of the 75 Summarit.

My solution, though not inexpensive, is to have a 2nd HRF so if one breaks I won't be without while arranging repair/replacement of the other. I use them alternately so they don't "gum up" from lack of use.
