Nicely done , I have always liked the files that come out of the D200 B&W's aren't to bad either. Love the onion shot.

Those are nice shots, I sold my Canon 5d and went back to
Nikon as well (D200) I really like it, the color's and clarity
seem better with the Nikon and I pick up a 35mm f1.8 DX
lens and seems sharp as well.

i use the 40 much like a 35...i miss the 24 that i sold...dumb move on my part.
the d200 is a solid camera, weather sealed and built to take some punishment...the d90 was too light in my hands.

I just redid the rubber parts on the D200 last night, It came
out really good, but sad to hear if you need parts from Nikon
they don't sell them anymore which i think stinks! But there's
way's around it, and your right about the D90 it's small and
hard to hold in my hands as well.

I really like the light and the colors in the third picture.

PS: that is just my taste, all the pictures are very good.

From what I remember about my D200 (was stolen in '10), it was a solid performer but the thumbpad on the back drove me absolutely mad. From that point on, it seems there were enough complaints about it that Nikon fixed the problem by introducing a different pad with the center "button" a bit more clearly defined. It was one of the things I loved about the D90 I got to replace it.

If you can get your hands on one before you buy, go for it. But beware how finicky the "ok" center button is to press correctly, especially if you're doing anything other than just sitting there for 30sec trying to push the ****ing thing. Nikon fixed it from the D300 and bodies released subsequently.

Wow, mine seems okay no problems with the buttons, the
only thing wrong was the grips in mine which I replaced and
it's true the colors are great in these!

Hi Joe, is D200 still worth it to buy? I am looking for a decent Nikon DSLR to use my old nikkor lens with. How does it compare to D90 or Fuji S3?
