After just two weeks, I openned my bag today and discovered that the piece of glass covering the viewfinder of R2 is cracked. 🙁🙁🙁🙁

My life sucks. :bang:
The last time I broke something was almost ten years ago (1998),
when I cracked the flash window of my EOS 5,
and I did drop it that time.

There are no dents nor scratches on my R2,
and I swear I did not drop my bag.
Neither am I a rough user.
In fact, I am notoriously famous for 'babying' my cameras.

Anyone had similar experience?
Or is it just bad luck on my part?
I have been treating everyone real nice,
honest to goodness, can't be bad karma on my part.
(I am a nice guy you know, I don't deserve this.)

& my buddy had asked me in advance to 'do' his wedding for him in Dec,
so if I send it in for service, it will most likely never make it back in time.

The front glass that is cracked should not affect your view too badly, and should still be usable. However, it's a little hard to find a replacement as the glass is coated.

US$35 repair.

US$35 repair.

You can still do the wedding with a cracked view finder, no? Want to barrow a T for the job?

Let me know.

Thanks for the offer!
But I live in Hong Kong!

I have dropped off my R2 for repair,
FYI, it costs HK$250 (US$35?) to replace the cracked window.
Right now . . . my life is in slow motion
I have to wait a week for the return of my R2.
