Photographer?
It's been a while since I posted on here, but I really don't understand the dog-piling on the folks joining crated. Some of these comments seem meant to actively discourage amateurs (or hobby artists/part timers/whatever) from selling their photographs with the justification of "Well, I wouldn't buy it" or "You aren't serious enough for me to take you seriously." It reeks of the photographic elitism that turns me off to photography and makes me not want to display my photos. This is an ugly thread, IMHO.

It rather sounds like someone coming in and asking for sensible advices, then getting lots of some, then concluding the discussion with the classic : "Thanks but I will continue to do what pleases me because I remain convinced that if things don't turn out the way I'd like them to, it's because of others, not me, so I won't question myself and now I'm out of the discussion, bye.".It reeks of the photographic elitism that turns me off to photography and makes me not want to display my photos. This is an ugly thread, IMHO.
And there are neither dog-piling nor ugly things in that thread... only some disappointment expressed by someone trying to find customers for his photos, at no avail, and honest people trying to help.
There is an old saying : "Overindulgent people aren't respectful".

i don't believe that is the case here but you seemed pretty convinced of my guilt so i wont argue the case.
