crazy question?

Um, I have several 'bag twins' of similar sized bags (ACAM 7100 and BLB "Oskar's One Day Mark II", Domke F5XB and Billingham L2, Domke F3X and F6 ...). Some of them are in use as "storage bags" at the moment, some are used as shooting bags. If I'm going on a shoot that requires lighting, for instance, most of my portable lighting gear aside from stands fits in the F6 bag, and the camera setup will be in the Oskar's One Day.

But that's the exception rather than the rule. Most of the time, one bag is all I carry.

Never done that myself. In fact I am more inclined now to want the smallest bag that will let me carry what I want. That said, I do have multple bags and cases. I just don't carry more than one at a time.

Lowepro passeport sling camera bag

Lowepro passeport sling camera bag

I just recently acquired a Lowepro passeport sling from Walmart and it's great for 2 rangefinders and a couple of lenses. The bag is nice, just soft enaugh so that it wraps around my body but still thick enaugh to offer a good protection to the gear. One other nice point is that it is easy to go in and out of a car with this bag, something very convenient for travellers.

I have one of these bags too. It's very convenient for some purposes, also fits the Hasselblad SWC beautifully. Inexpensive (I think I paid $40 for it) and nicely made.

The 'camera box' part pops out easily too. I often replace it with an A&A insert, which nets more organization capabilities to the interior and a slimmer bag.

I do quite often, usually when I use "common" bags which are not designed for camera because I hope people won't notice too easily that I am carrying cameras. My favorite combination is a "mochila" and a sport bag or a small rucksack. For those not knowing, the mochila is a bag typical of several native people of the Andes, like that used by these guys:

They are quite "furry" so I usually put the gear in a light cotton sack like those used for shoes before throwing it inside.

I usually just carry a lens case, which holds a lens and two rolls of film. Unless I'm going to be out all day carrying less is the best.

I never take the large bag out of the house - it's for lens storage only.

I sometimes take 2 small (Domkes) out to shoot. One for the Fuji, one for the Nikon. I leave one in the car whenever I get where I'm going.

I refuse to carry 2 cameras - one camera, one lens, choose the setup when I get out of the car.
