Crazy to shoot Toronto this Friday???

Okay, I feel a little silly about the temperature I mentioned...but it's different just wandering around as opposed to actually walking TO someplace 🙂

I was actually cold Wednesday morning, and realized I'd forgotten a layer when I left the house. Didn't feel too bad Wednesday night. Recommendation: layers, one of which is a fleece thing,

I wouldn't worry about the M9 battery in these temperatures. I generally walk about the city to and from work with an M9 and GR.

I second Mingkookoo's suggested areas. I'm very Also, somewhat west of that, though not too far west (a mile west of Kensington Market), the Stephen Bulger Gallery (Queen Street just west of Ossington) is showing Larry Towell's work from Afghanistan. Nice gallery and an excuse to get warm. I haven't seen the work yet.

Also agree with the comments about it getting dark early. You'd think it was December.
 
The Ryerson Image Centre (33 Gould St.) has a few interesting photo exhibits that's worth a quick look. It's free! A couple of blocks south (Church and Queen East) is Downtown Camera and Henry's, which are two large-ish camera shops if you want to browse. Prices don't seem that great. That area is also just a few minutes from Yonge Dundas Square, which is very pretty, kinda like a mini-Times Square.

I think for Friday the Christmas Night Market is the place to be.

It's a little cold, but if you duck in to a building every once in a while, it's perfectly fine.

I feel sorry too! I'm back to Toronto only on Monday....

I went yesterday for one hour and half. Everything was fine, I measured it @1600, it was enough for 1/125 and f2.8. Took 24 shots. Happy street walk.
Also purchased cheap my favourite "Breakfast in America" LP and two Rolling Stones LPs...

Opened M4-2 in the train and ... the film was wrong. Not the one which is pushable to 1600. 😱

Checked LPs at home and all three are so bumpy, my record player stylus is skipping grooves. I have to increase the arm weight to almost plow those LPs.

Two failures, because I was acting smarty pants here and on Bills thread. 😀

Nice photography section. And some lovely Canadian paintings.

King and Queen streets are good hunting grounds for street shots.
Yonge Street has some action, but little bit more dark.
Spadina street is wide with China town on the East and Kensington market at Spadina, Dundas, College NW block.

Polypan F, I could push it only to @400 for pictures taken in the dark.
The one which I supposed to use @1600 was HP5+, which was in the bag as well 🙂

Sounds like the traditional "old" technology is demonstrating why digital seems like such a godsend on the surface, anyway. I never have to add weight to my iPhone to hear the music 😉
