cricket3226 - scammer selling Leica equipment

It's typical of the hi jacked account. 24 hour listingss, different array of items, (the classics the leica sewing machine, bikes etc) Must contact seller by email etc.

If you use the "ask seller a question, within a couple of hours, the listings will be removed and you will get an email from eBay about trawling for email addresses.

The trouble is that you don't know the ID of this scammer. Someone has been foolish and replied to a phishing email and had his account used. As soon as he wakes up to it, the listings will be removed and then he could be back to normal. Putting his name on a list will not help anything. It is the signs you need to look for, not the user ID.

No connection to seller (duh!)

Maybe we need a sticky thread with scammer's IDs.

This person has been doing this under various hijacked accounts for the last several weeks. On one day, he/she popped up at least 3 times. It is always with the same set of items listed under the same, misplaced category. When I encounter it, I just report it to EBAY. They usually disappear within a few hours.

You know, if I were scammed by an eBoy seller, and later on someone from RFF emailed me and said "Well, I saw that he was a scammer, but I didn't say anything, it was none of my business, sorry you got ripped off," I'd be kind of bummed. I'm glad someone here cares enough to give the rest of us a HU.

I agree. As a community, we should alert one another to potential scams. I appreciate the effort and the replies pointing out how and why a listing could be a scam. Thanks Hoot, and all who replied.
