Glenn: This photo is of a nice size. It must be difficult to control the exposure for such a wide image. A graduated neutral density filter would give the foreground more light to reveal details while keeping contrast in the sky.

ampguy: I can "see" the clouds floating! This is a nice pastel colored image. I wonder what effect it would have on the "floating clouds" if you had included a lower angle to include more of the prairie. Again, a graduated neutral density filter may [or may not] improve contrast if this is actually desired here.

Nuno: The tree is partially covering up the two men. Either take the photo of the tree or of the men or of both. Stepping behind the tree would have given you a photo of the men. Stepping back a few steps would have given you a photo of both. Stepping back a lot and shooting from a different angle would have given you the tree as the main subject.

Ampguy: I really like the look of the clouds, very dramatic without too much contrast. That being said, I would love to see a bit more contrast on the lower part of the picture. Looks a bit washed out.
Raid: Two of my favorite nature themes, water and autumn colours. I like it very much but the branches on the upper right corner could be cropped out. Don't know if I would post it as Landscape though.
Glenn: Very beautiful picture, the wide aspect ratio does it justice. If we could have a bit more detail on the lower third it would be perfect (to my eye).
Silva: Very well exposed, from the foreground to the sky. But I'm with Raid on this one: More fence and no tree.
Thank you all for a great set of photos.

Very nice Nuno. The clear water and white sands make this location seem very attractive and peaceful.
The angle of the diagonal trees, combined with the horizontal boat, and tree shadow adds some interesting lines, and the people behind the tree show some relaxing activities.
I wonder how opening up to show detail in the tree would have worked, or maybe having a little more sand in the foreground. Very nice.

This photo is very beautiful. Like out of a good nature photography book. I can't think of improving it, maybe sharper leaves, but on screen I can't really tell, maybe they already are. How long was your exposure? Is the contrast in the flowing water natural or touched up? I like the greens.
Excellent photo!

Wow, this is stunning. I'm generally not a big fan of B&W landscapes, but this is really done right. I'd be very interested in the technical stuff on how you did this, and where it was. I think the exposure was perfect, as well as the composition. If I had taken this, it would be up on my wall.

Very beautiful, sharp and great use of color. I wonder what this would look like with a wider lens or backed up a bit? Very pretty.

ampguy: This is a scan without any digtial touch-up of any sort. If I had scanned the slide these days, I would have done some touching up. I took this photo over ten years ago, so I can't recall details on the exposure. I can tell you that everything is"natural". Gald you like it.

Raid,
It's a little embarrassing to tell how I took this photo. I was driving along on a road trip, and the clouds really caught my eye, so I grabbed my digicam and bracketed about 5 shots while cruising along at 60mph down the freeway.

I like the shot and the composition is strong. It is a good shot but to me I would like to see a focal point, A tree or a cow or something. It is a very peaceful shot though.
Nuno
Great colours and exposure, the scene reminds me of my honeymoon.... I like the composition with the boat, I would like to dig out the dead palm trunk though. Capturing this shot with the two people instead of the trunk, would be the only improvement I could suggest.
Raid
Beautiful colours, and just the right amount of motion in the water, exposure is spot on too. Only suggestion for improvement would be to say that a slightly smaller aperture would have increased the fron to back sharpness, but that is being fussy!
Glenn2
I am a big fan of Monochrome Landscapes, but few of mine come out as well as this. Composition, exposure are spot on and atmosphere is great. I dont have a suggest for an improvement, although I might fiddle around and create a blue duotone version to add to the mood of the shot.

Well-known
Ampguy; I like the idea of your shot of BIG sky country. The clouds make the picture, but the grass and fence set the place. To improve it I would like to have been a bit closer to the fence and seen a little more detail in it and the grass. The large area of blue sky at the top could probably be cropped to tighten composition. Perhaps a polarizer would have given a boost to the clouds and more impact.
Nuno; Nice beach shot. The shore line carries your eye to the boat and couple, but they are rather small and seem to be hiding behind the dead coconut palm. A closer view point would have helped. The tree is what catches your eye and it takes away from the beach and boat without really being the main subject.
Raid; The fall colours and water go well together, but the shot is a little too busy to my eye. There's a lot going on, but the eye needs something to hold it. The slow shutter speed shows the water movement well but the rest should be tack sharp and it isn't. If a tripod was used I wonder if this may be due to the scanner? It looks like this might be from a 35mm slide as I can see the mount.
Silva; A peaceful walk in the country photo. Would go for a tighter crop to bring out the age difference between the old stone wall and the new wire fence. Crop out anything that's not helping.
Guess I'm a bit of a ringer in here. My shot was done on 4x5 Tri-X with Linhof Super Technica and 150mm Symar. Was camping on a friends farm near Vernon BC and got up early to take a pee. The light was so beautiful that I grabbed the camera, resting it on top a handy fence post. Used rangefinder and viewfinder rather than the usual ground glass, so I feel this one is OK on RFF. Before taking the picture I almost relieved myself on the electric fence around the horse corral. Had that happened I might have been shaking too much to hold the camera.

Raid, I've been looking up the various meanings of the word "Landscape" and I think an apology is in order. Your photo sure fits into the category...
