Jon,
they really are photogenic, they're very nice together, in italian i would say "simpatici" a real kind word about being funny and friendly.
This thing about complementary clothes is really humouros...
n.

btw, do you have any other?

Thanks Nico, no, no others of Nabo and Piolho, but some of other bar tv football fans who drink too much. I'll look them out and put them in my gallery or webspace sometime.

Thank-you all for your comments ....... When I took my shot it was thought out ... I wanted the wall and the girl coming toward me to be a blur ..... I was not shy about taking the photograph of these people but can see how it appears that way resting the camera on the wall . For me the blur girl is what I like about this shot ...This is about as exciting as it gets in my neighborhood street shooting and I thought taking a shot of people just fishing might be boring ...not say this shot is great ..it was one of the first times I tried to set something up .. trying to visualize a shot be before I take it .........
This is a scan from a negative that I had developed myself ...so many factors involved trying to get the tones to look right .....nice to hear that technically this photo looks good ..... again thanks for the comments

Charley: It is important to do what you have done here, namely to experiment. Visualizing before taking the shot makes you a better photographer than if you don't.

Shiro Kuro: Thank you for sharing your thinking and planning. The photo means more now that I know the story behind the photo. Your planning paid off.

For some reason I thought the photo was taken in, or near, Hiroshima and I wondered whether it was an image of youth and peace.

Jon you are right ..this was taken in Hiroshima ...The mountains in the background is Miyajima ..... been living here for about a year and have been learning about photography about six months .....not that my planning paid off its just that I am starting to think about things more ..now if I could stop walking around taking meter readings off my hand ...lol people always are wondering why I am taking a picture of my hand .....
About your comment about youth and peace ...there is that awareness because of what happened here ..I am not sure I that I am able to capture that sort feel in a photograph yet hopefully someday .. now I am just trying to understand how to use my m6 ....... never realized how difficult it is to take great pictures until I tried .. Sites like this are great, learning and getting feedback from people like yourself takes a few years off the learning curve : ).....

I like this shot nico....... The way she is surrounded by the chaos of books ... I think the way the you composed this shot is cool ..the blurred foreground grabs my attention and leads my right through your picture ..thanks for sharing
Charley

Nico: There is a lot of 3-D depth in your image. The out-of-focus in the front is against the rule of having the front sharp, and it makes the image more interesting in my opinion. I like it.

Nico: The arches repeating and receding give a nice sense of depth, and the top shelf with the parcels shows us the height.

A keeper for sure and a memory of Lisbon that 99% of visitors would not have noticed.

Raid,
you'll find beatiful places and friendly people. Lisbon is one of my favourite places in Europe.
Jon, I can only agree with you, totally.
bye
