Apologies for taking so long to reply, but work has been busy and I've only just got round to giving all the pictures some proper attention.
Alan (welsh_italian): I like the muted colour palette and the limited DOF, this has a tranquil feel and a strong sense of place. I would possibly move the focus point slightly forward or get a bit more of the boat sharp, but that's only a minor grumble.
Steve (dazedgoneby): I'm drawn immediately to the cloud rather than the tree (I like big clouds!). Colours are good. I'd like to see a bit more of the tree's surroundings, but I have no idea if the terrain would make it possible to move further back.
Roland (ferider): I like this a lot, great colour and the abstraction works well. If it was me, I'd be tempted to make it even more abstract by going in a lot closer and separating the image even further from anything recognisable.
John (jmilkins): Again, beautiful colour, a strong sense of place, and the red rock is great. As with Roland's picture, my temptation would be to go in closer and make a very abstract picture of part of the rock, it looks like a very promising subject in its own right.
